Summary: From 2026-08-15 to 2026-08-28 installs hit 502 and 503 errors from files.pythonhosted.org. PyPI traces the failures to a partial Fastly canary rollback at one Seattle point of presence, compounded by bugs in PyPI's own origin fallback and range-request handling. Fastly has removed all PSF traffic from its canary cohort.
