- Summary: Across a fixed cohort of 6,887 paid teams, 4,280 with a connected coding agent and 2,607 without, Linear reports agent teams went from 21 to 65 pull requests opened per week between June 2024 and June 2026 while teams without one went from 8 to 10. Pull requests per paid workspace are up 111 percent against a June 2024 baseline, with the inflection through 2026, and issues authored by agents and MCP clients went from under one in a thousand two years ago to near parity with people and integrations in the week of 2026-08-03, at 2.44 million against 2.48 million per week. Linear states its own limits: it cannot see AI usage outside Linear, it counts pull requests opened rather than merged, an opened pull request says nothing about the value of the change, and agent-connected teams were already higher output before coding agents existed.
- Why it matters: This is measured cohort data with stated sample sizes and stated caveats rather than a vendor productivity claim, and the comparison cohort shows little change over the same period.
