  • Summary: Octane compiles React's hooks model ahead of time and runs with no virtual DOM. The compiler infers what effects and memos capture, so dependency arrays and the rules of hooks go away and a hook can sit behind a condition. Adoption is per component through an OctaneCompat island inside an existing React 19 app rather than a rewrite, and React Server Components are the one feature the project states does not carry over. The comparison grid is self-published by the project, and on its own numbers Vue Vapor is ahead on the geometric mean.
  • Why it matters: The dependency array and the rules of hooks are the parts of the model a compiler can take over, and this is a per-component migration path rather than a framework switch.
  • Follow-up: Track independent benchmarks and whether React Server Components gain a path.
