Zed 1.12.0 adds git staging groups and multi-select finders

Summary: Zed released 1.12.0 on 2026-07-23. The git panel gains a staging grouping with separate staged and unstaged sections, in-editor GPG passphrase prompts for signing keys, restore controls in the unstaged diff view, and a git graph context menu in the history tab. The file and text finders gain multi-select for opening several results at once. On the agent side, Agent Client Protocol elicitations are enabled by default so ACP agents can collect structured input, and adaptive thinking and a supports_fast_mode setting are configurable for custom Anthropic models. format_on_save gains modifications and modifications_if_available options that format only git-changed lines.
Why it matters: Formatting only changed lines removes the main reason teams disable format-on-save in repositories with unformatted history.
