AWS identified the root cause as networking devices responsible for routing from the region to the Seattle metro, and states connectivity inside the region was not affected. A reconvergence event between 04:47 and 04:59 PDT caused a second round of intermittent failures, and customers using AWS Direct Connect through the Westin Building Exchange in Seattle saw impact until 05:12 PDT. Some customers also could not load the AWS Management Console.
