Gemini's newest models drop temperature, top_p, and top_k sampling controls

Summary: Google's Gemini API documentation states that starting with Gemini 3.6 Flash and Gemini 3.5 Flash-Lite, the temperature, top_p, and top_k sampling parameters are deprecated, applying to those models and all future Gemini releases. The current models ignore the parameters when a request supplies them. The documentation says future model generations will return an HTTP 400 error for requests that include them and advises removing the parameters from all requests.
Why it matters: Code and client libraries that tune sampling against Gemini lose that control on the newest models and will fail outright on later ones, a concrete migration item for any team calling the Gemini API.
